I am a Taiwanese artist, I live and work in London. My work comes from the idea of creating a meeting point. I transform memory and time into a physical format. Movement creates moments, moments draw emotions, emotions become duration. I work almost exclusively with wood and steel. I see these materials as two elements, and explore how they support each other; how they are constructed with and alongside each other.
I have exhibited both in the UK and China with recent exhibitions including RA Summer Exhibition 2023, Royal Academy of Arts, London; Reflections: Part 3: Sculpture by Women Artists, WORKPLACE, London; and London Grads Now. 21, Saatchi Gallery, London. I am the recipient of Samuel Ross Black British & POC Artist Grants, 2021 and was selected for the first ever Claudia Rankine Award, 2019.
During this fellowship, I would like to get to know the community at the School, have more experiences in teaching as a technician, and learn to operate the machines and tools in the workshop. I also would like to explore different ways of assembling or joining in various types of wood or materials.
