Second year BA (Hons) Fine Art student Theo Chaudoir is part of a collaborative team of creatives and architects that has been shortlisted for ‘Transforming Falcon Road Bridge’, a competition launched by London Festival of Architecture and Wandsworth Council (the Mayor of London’s Borough of Culture 2025).

Theo is working with Flanagan Lawrence’s team, one of the seven shortlisted teams from over 80 applications. Their aim is to transform the Falcon Road tunnel at Clapham Junction into a safer, brighter and more vibrant space. This striking architectural installation bathed in golden-blue lights, as shown in these images, has the potential to become a memorable landmark for the local area.

Inspired by the Falcon Brook river flowing beneath, the tunnel would transform into an electric ‘River of Words,’ weaving together community oral histories. Through phrases, lyrics, poetry, and quotes from local voices, their design embodies Unity, Respect, Pride and creates a lasting legacy for the area.

The winner of the competition will be selected by a judging panel and will be announced in December.

Find out more about the competition on the London Festival of Architecture’s website.

Best of luck to Theo and his team!
