We are delighted to share that City & Guilds of London Art School was awarded ‘Educational Institution of the Year’, sponsored by CLS Holdings, at the inaugural BeLambeth Awards.

Across nine categories, the BeLambeth Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in skills and employment in Lambeth and showcase the diversity and talent within the borough.

The finalists were celebrated at the Awards Ceremony at the Kia Oval on Monday 30 September, and we were honoured to be amongst individuals and organisations making a wide range of exceptional contributions to reshape the future of Lambeth.

Dr Lois Rowe, Principal of the Art School, commented:

“We are immensely proud of being awarded the BeLambeth Educational Institution of the Year!

Since Covid, we have established a number of new initiatives that have focused specifically on the potential of young people in our local area. Our National Saturday Club and Tutors into Schools programmes have enabled us to teach art, craft and design skills to young people and, perhaps just as importantly, introduce the idea that there may be a future for them in the creative industries. The development of our evening courses and summer schools have further extended our reach into new parts of our local community and formed a part of the school that feels new and very exciting. We are thrilled that this work is recognised and celebrated today.”

Thank you to everyone who voted for us, the BeLambeth Awards team, CLS Holdings and the Award sponsors, and congratulations to all our fellow finalists.
